Greetings,
BEML layout was formed in the year 1987, with about five thousand sites allotted to BEML employees in third, fourth and fifth stages in BEML layout, Rajarajeswari Nagar. Although basic amenities like water, sanitation, electricity and roads were provided, site owners never came forward to construct houses in this new township as this place was desolate. It required great amount of persuasion and confidence building measures like providing subsidized rates on construction materials, providing Bank loans and providing cost effective labour. It’s because of this effort nearly two hundred employees came forward to construct their houses.
Despite all these efforts, employees were reluctant to occupy the houses since there were no school and transport facilities. Hence I decided to address this problem by staring a school. We named it BET Convent which catered to the needs of nearby localities of Ideal homes, H.V. Halli, Gattigere, Mylasandra, Pattanagere, Kenchenahalli, Nayandahalli etc., We solved the logistic and transport problem by arranging buses to pick-up students from faraway places. We also arranged for shuttle services from arch to BEML layout for BEML employees working second shift. We also built a shopping complex, so that all the daily house hold requirements like grocery, milk, gas, saloon was fulfilled.

IMAGINATION IS JUST NOT A DREAM WHEN CREATION & EXECUTION FALL IN PLACE...
BET Convent was started with one class and soon higher classes upto tenth standard was added. Once a very small school started with handful of students, has grown into a huge school with over 1000 students, providing quality education with affordable fee and well qualified faculty.
Our school provides affordable fee structure and also provides good remuneration to all the faculty. The management had to finance school expenditure from general account, since fee collection from students was by far very less. One more unique feature of our institution is income and professional qualification of the parents was never a criteria while admitting students. Our students have excelled in all the spheres of professional qualifications like engineering, medicine, Architecture etc.
I am grateful to BEML co-operative society which helped in construction of the school building compound and providing all other facilities.
BET Convent has earned a good name in RR Nagar now which would not have been possible but for hard work put by the past and present trustees. Here I would like to mention the name of Late Sri. P Venugopal and also present trustees Sri. G H Ramachandra, Sri. P C Ramesha, Sri. P S N Swamy and
Smt. K R Vijaya.
